The Gravity Paper Band Filter (PBF) can filter contaminant by filter paper.  Filter paper moves automatically when the contaminants accumulate and clog the filter paper. Clean filter paper is replaced and the soiled filter paper is moved to a sediment box.  The Gravity Paper Band Filter / Magnetic Separator are both available in Carbon Steel, 304 Stainless Steel and 316 Stainless Steel.

Operation

The dirty liquid, which is channelled through a distributor to prevent turbulence flows through the filter paper.  The filtered liquid then flows into the clean liquid tank to be put back into circulation via a delivery pump.  The dirty particles accumulate on the filter paper, building up an additional layer (filter cake) that actually improves its filtration degree.  The solid particles that build up, clog the filter paper causing the liquid to rise.  When the set maximum level is reached the float switch starts off the advancing belt. The dirty filter paper is conveyed into the sediment tank, whereas the clean filter paper is ready again for filtration.  Thanks to the short filter paper advancement, only a small part of it is renewed so as to take advantage from the optimization of the filter paper consumption and the better filtration result as the liquid goes through the layer created. The filter paper advancing stages do not interrupt the filtration process and an extra delivery tank is not necessary! An end-of-roll mirco switch signals the end of the fabric roll.

Features

The Gravity Paper Band Filter is able to filter both ferrous and non-ferrous contaminants.  Filtration accuracy depends on the filter paper by choosing from  our standard 15, 30, or 50 micron efficient filter paper (Other micron ratings are available).  The Gravity Paper Band Filter is not recommended for heavy duty particles as it will consume too much filter paper. We recommend that you use the magnetic separator as a pre-filter to reduce filter paper consumption.

Magnetic Separator and Gravity Paper Band Filter

Combine the Magnetic Separator and Gravity Paper Band Filter to filter heavy duty ferrous and
non-ferrous particles.  Use the Magnetic Separator as pre-filter to remove large and
ferrous particles to save cost on filter paper and increase filtration fineness.

Features

By using the combination of the Magnetic Separator and Gravity Paper Band Filter you are able to filter both heavy duty and fine ferrous and non-ferrous contaminants.  Filtration accuracy depends on the filter paper by choosing from 15, 30, or 50 micron efficient filter paper.  Pre-filtration for heavy duty ferrous particles by the Magnetic Separator and fine filtration for non-ferrous or smaller particles by the Gravity Paper Band Filter.

Specification

Flow Capacity: 20 to 500 Litres per minute

Suitable for the following applications;

  • Coolant lubricants
  • Emulsions
  • Cutting oils
  • Scouring solutions
  • Installation as an independent cleaning unit on machine tools as well as a supplement to swarf conveyors.
